Rollei 35 S
The Rollei 35 S, launched in 1974, is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts for its compact size, excellent optics, and manual controls. Its introduction marked a significant advancement in compact camera design, offering photographers professional-level features in a portable package.
After the success of the Rollei 35 as a result of the launch at the Photokina as the smallest existing 135 film camera, in 1966. A luxury more advanced model of the Rollei 35 was planned in 1967, the Rollei 35 S. The 2.8/40mm five-elements lens was designed by Zeiss Sonnar particularly for this camera. The shutter of the Rollei 35 S was manufactured by Prontor, a Zeiss Sonnar subsidiary company in Calmbach.
