Yashica T4 FAQ

  • The Yashica T4 is popular because it packages a Carl Zeiss Tessar T* lens into a small, weather-resistant autofocus compact. It gives premium-lens character without the heavier luxury feel of a Contax.

  • The Super Scope is a waist-level finder on top of the camera. It lets you compose from a lower angle without lifting the camera to your eye, which is brilliant for discreet street photos, pets, kids and low viewpoints. This is only available on the "Yashica T4 Super"

  • It suits direct everyday photography: street scenes, friends, travel, flash snapshots and documentary details. The T* coated Tessar lens gives it the reputation that made the T series famous.

  • It is more special than a normal compact because of the lens, body design and cult handling quirks. It still behaves like an automatic point-and-shoot, but the results can feel more polished.

  • Buy it if you want a premium compact that is small, fast to use and less formal than a titanium Contax. It is a strong pick for people who actually want to carry the camera daily.
