The R-series were the successors of the Leicaflex models. The Leica R3 was a commercial success which ensured continuation of the R-series. The first batches of the Leica R3 were produced in Germany, production later changed to Portugal. The Leica R3 offers Leica quality at an affordable price level, a great camera!
