The Olympus MJU has always been a very popular automatic 35mm compact camera with sales reaching over 5 million pieces. The MJU series is probably the most iconic and popular range of cameras ever made. The Olympus MJU is equipped with a 35mm, 1:3.5 Olympus lens. A great camera for photographers of all levels.

Olympus MJU I FAQ

  • The MJU I introduced the smooth clamshell style that made the MJU/Stylus line famous. It is less hyped than the MJU II, but its design DNA is unmistakable.

  • The sliding cover protects the lens, powers the camera and keeps the body pocketable. It is one of the best examples of Olympus making a camera feel like a daily object rather than a technical box.

  • The MJU I is usually a little more relaxed and less expensive than the MJU II. It still gives you the Olympus pocket-camera experience, just without the exact same cult status.

  • Buy it if you want the Olympus sliding-cover magic in a more understated form. It is a lovely everyday camera for travel, dinners, street walks and quick portraits.

  • It is best for spontaneous shooting. Open the cover, make the photo, close it and put it back in your pocket: that simple rhythm is the reason people still love these cameras.
