The Minolta X-500 was launched in 1983.

The X-500 was launched as the X-570 in some countries and featured all the same specification as the X-700 (which was the model with most features). The camera has a 35mm manual focus SLR using the MD lens mount which was used on all Minolta manual focus 35mm SLR bodies.

Minolta X-500 FAQ

The X-500, also known as the X-570 in some markets, is beloved because it gives up the X-700's Program mode but improves manual shooting feedback with match-LED metering.
Its quirk is that many enthusiasts prefer it to the more famous X-700. It asks you to know a little more, then rewards you with clearer manual exposure information.
Choose it if you want a Minolta body for learning and real manual shooting rather than letting Program mode take over.
It uses Minolta SR-mount manual-focus lenses, including many MC, MD and Rokkor lenses. Compact 45mm and 50mm primes suit the body especially well.
It is best for learning exposure, slow travel, portraits and everyday photography where the lens character matters as much as the camera body.
