The Canon AF35M, also known as the Sure Shot or Autoboy, was Canon's first compact autofocus camera. It helped launch the long Sure Shot/Prima/Autoboy family that defined consumer autofocus compacts for decades.

It uses an active near-infrared triangulation autofocus system. That was clever for its time and works independently of ambient light, but it can be confused by glass or reflective barriers.

It has a chunky early-AF personality and a 38mm f/2.8 lens, giving photos a classic late-1970s and early-1980s snapshot feel. It is premium because of history and character, not because it is tiny or luxurious.

Buy it if you like landmark cameras and want something more historically meaningful than a generic point-and-shoot. It is a great conversation-piece shooter.
