Die Canonet 28 35-mm-Messsucherkamera ist der kleine Bruder der berühmten Canonet QL17.

Das Objektiv ist ein 40-mm-f/2,8-Objektiv von Canon. Es verfügt über eine vollprogrammierte Belichtungsautomatik mit Verschlusszeiten von 1/30 bis 1/600 (angezeigt durch die Messnadel im Sucher) und eine manuelle Steuerung der Blendenstufen für den Blitz (f2,8–f16). Der Empfindlichkeitsbereich der automatischen Belichtungsautomatik liegt zwischen 25 und 400.
